# She was born Eilleen Regina Edwards. She changed her name to Shania—which means “on my way” in Ojibwe—as a tribute to her stepfather’s Indigenous heritage.
# Her 1997 album Come On Over is the best-selling studio album by a female artist in any genre—and the best-selling country album ever! Over 40 million copies sold.
# After losing her voice due to Lyme disease and vocal cord issues, doctors told her she might never sing again. But after years of therapy and surgery, she made a major comeback in 2017.
#Shania appeared in movies like Trading Paint with John Travolta and even judged on Real Country, a USA Network music competition.
