Craig Olejnik's Dog Stan
STAN - "He’s truly my best bud. I think I’m his shadow—he’s got me trained perfectly,” Craig Olejnik once wrote about Stan, his beloved Chocolate Lab. The bond between them runs deep, filled with humor, loyalty, and quiet companionship. Craig named him Stan as a lighthearted nod to his father, but as he puts it, “the name suits him perfectly.” Stan isn't just a pet—he’s a constant, grounding presence in Craig’s life, with a personality so rich it earned him both a family name and a permanent spot in his heart.
# Craig Olejnik was born in Halifax, Canada, and raised in Nova Scotia. His dad served in the Canadian military, and his grandfather was a WW2 soldier and POW in a Polish concentration camp for five years before immigrating to Canada. Safe to say—resilience runs in his blood.
# His first-ever audition landed him a role in Margaret’s Museum (1995), where he played Helena Bonham Carter’s younger brother in a coal-mining family. Not a bad start for a teenage newcomer, right?
# Craig hit it big playing Toby Logan, a telepathic paramedic, in The Listener (2009–2014). Not only did he star in the show, but he also stepped up as executive producer in the final season. The show aired in 120+ countries and built a loyal fanbase worldwide.
#Before The Listener, he already made waves in Thir13en Ghosts, Wolf Lake, and Runaway with Donnie Wahlberg. He was consistently booked in strong, gritty roles across film and TV.
#He’s deeply committed to giving back. Craig has supported Sick Kids Hospital and Stand Up To Cancer, appearing in PSAs and campaigns to raise awareness. It’s clear he uses his platform for good.
#When he’s not working, Craig’s likely skating on a hockey rink or hiking in the great outdoors. As of 2016, he’s based in Los Angeles—but his Canadian roots and love for nature haven’t gone anywhere.
